Bellaire Lodge #1336, AF&AM, was chartered on December 3, 1953, by the
Grand Lodge of Texas. This lodge is a fraternal organization that
admits, makes, and passes Freemasons according to the Constitution and Laws,
and Edicts of The Grand Lodge of Texas, Ancient Free & Accepted
Masons. Its goals are to advance the moral and social interests of its
membership; to foster good citizenship, honest industry and upright living;
to cultivate the exercise of charity in its best and broadest sense; to assist
the widows and orphans of its deceased members; to stimulate friendship,
harmony and brotherly love, and generally to promote, in its own way, the
happiness of mankind --- it is a Fraternity of good men, linked together by
honorable and indissoluble bonds, to accomplish these noble purposes,
eschewing all interests in factional politics and sectarian religion and free
from the dictation of both.
A Mason
A Mason is a man who
professes a faith in God. As a man of faith, he uses the tools
of moral and ethical truths to serve mankind.
A Mason binds himself to like-minded men in a brotherhood that transcends all
religious, ethnic, social, cultural, and educational differences.
In fellowship with his brothers, a Mason finds ways in which to serve his
God, his family, his fellow man, and his
country.
A Mason is dedicated. He recognizes his resposibility
for justice, truth, charity, enlightenment, freedom, liberty, honesty, and
integrity in all aspects of human endeavor.
A mason is all this and more.
Q:What are Masons?
A: A group (fraternity)
of men who enjoy sharing the virtues of honesty, morality, integrity, and
tolerance.
Q: What do Masons do?
A: Masons contribute, not necessaily
monetarily, but by living their lives in such a manner that the world is better
just because they live in it.
Q: What do you get out of masonry?
A: Most men get the realization that it is not necessary to receive
something tangible for every good act or deed performed.
Q: Is Masonry a religion?
A: No. To become a mason a man must profess a belief in God; however,
masonry is not a religion, a substitute for, or a rival of any doctrine.
Masonry does not perform functions of a church, has no sacraments, and makes
no claim to save souls or reform sinners.
Q: How do you join?
A: You must ask a Master Mason and he in turn will be happy to guide
you, and more pertinent information will be provided.
